Dear Yogis,

With the Coronavirus outbreak and the cancellation of yoga classes at the YMCA and the Council on Recovery, I began this weekend posting yoga and meditation YouTube Videos on my Yoga for the Spirit website Home Page.

Moving forward, these weekly videos will have complete hour-long yoga practices in Beginner Level and Intermediate Level Hatha Yoga, and All Levels Yin Yoga. In addition, I will be periodically posting short meditation videos from a variety of wisdom traditions. I hope these practices will help to keep you physically healthy, as well as help you to maintain a balanced mind and a peaceful heart during these challenging days.

If you would like to continue to receive updates on videos, potential small group outdoor yoga practices (when advisable), and news about yoga classes restarting at the YMCA and the Council on Recovery; please subscribe to the Yoga for the Spirit website so that I only contact folks who are genuinely interested. Yoga Class Cancellations

Hello yogis,

As you can see on the news, the coronavirus situation is quickly changing, and I’m sorry to tell you that the YMCA of Greater Houston is temporarily closing all centers tonight until further notice. I am in discussion with the management at Weekley Family YMCA to possibly live-stream yoga classes for our members. I’ll let you know more when I know more.

The Council on Recovery also cancelled all their yoga classes as well as group support meetings on 03/13/20 until further notice.

Since apparently I will have some free time on my hands, I will work on filming some yoga and meditation YouTube videos (which can be accessed from my website) for you to practice at home. Yoga does help us to strengthen the immune system, reduce stress, and importantly during this challenging time; maintain a calm and open heart.
